Anna Larsen Dirckinck-Holmfeld assisted and worked as a dramaturg for various theatres including; The Young Vic, the Royal Court Theatre and Det Danske Teater. She quickly went
on to direct fringe shows and process work in London at the Soho Theatre Studio, the King's Head and the White Bear Theatre. Seminal experience in opera followed as an assist to David McVicar,
Richard Jones and Graham Vick at the Opera House, Copenhagen.
Recently, collaborations with Elfenbenstaarnet have focused on developing a new framework for staging lieder. The first joint venture Hængende Haver, a marriage between Schoenberg's Das Buch der
Hängende Garten and Janacek's Im Nebel, was performed in 2010. A second production based on Schubert's Winterreise in collaboration with award-winning visual artist Peter Callesen incorporated
puppetry and electronic soundscapes.
Future projects include adapting The Pornographers Poem into sound theatre with Canadian composer Andrea Young (CalArts) and a festival of storytelling concerts for Københavns Musikteater

She was awarded the 2004 Drama Award by Goldsmiths College, University of London, where she graduated in 2005 with 1st degree honours. (November 2013)
